With an ever-changing career that’s well into its third decade, this purveyor of fine electronic music can be found across one of his three bases of Liverpool, Ibiza, and Vancouver. From the beginnings of Acid House his love for electronic beats was irreversible. Always innovating and pushing what’s new across the years having played several of the underground genres the scene has had to offer, but all the while pushing his melodic progressive sound. Known for playing longer than the average sets, and feeling most comfortable away from the spotlight, preferring the energy of a dark basement club to a festival main stage. All the while considering progressive as a state of mind rather then a music genre, and in so having a wide eclectic taste.

13754145_1769802126597998_5725988688892709976_nAlways moving with the times and embracing new music technology, being an early convert to the digital movement of Ableton & Tracktor. Along with carving a broadcast career longer than most, foreseeing the future in podcasting and downloads launching his own Something Global Radio show back in 2009, achieving a near cult status with its listeners. Something Global shares its platform weekly by bringing in new emerging DJs/producers as well as the internationally famous, giving all the same opportunity and platform to play.
Production duties have been on going over the past decade but you wont find any of Steve’s remixes, re-edits or productions available in any store. You won’t find releases put out on the who’s who of the underground elite music record label’s. By now you should have grasped this is a DJ that likes to do things differently. If you want to hear music created by the man, then you need to see him live as most of the music he has created to date has only been made for himself. If you are really lucky you may find a second hand white label from one of his early productions released under one of his pseudonyms Tree4 or Silverback.

Steve'Butch'Jones SomethingGlobalFor a career filled with highlights from playing major festivals like Creamfields, to spinning at sunset on the strip in Ibiza, Steve has always been very proud of the success achieved with his events including Dirty Look, BrightonDJs and of course Something Global (events). Along with running a successful DJ agency, GBdjs Artist Management (2002-2009), the man has been involved in many areas of the electronic community, throughout the years.

Feeling just as at home playing tech-house and techno in the middle of the night, to playing chill out / bar grooves beside a sun drenched pool. Dropping in original treats Steve is carving a marking in electronic music lover’s hearts for good.

(Steve’Butch’Jones should not be confused with Bülent Gürler AKA Butch whom’s emergence in the past decade has caused some confusion).
